THE INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO BREAKGROUNDS ON THE MISSIONS FIELD – PART 3

One of the most important ingredients needed in grounds breaking missions is the confirmation of the word of God with signs and wonders. Mar 16:20  And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The ministry of signs and wonders strengthens the message of the gospel and opens the heart of the local people. It cancels language, skin color or any racial barrier. There are no arguments when people see something different. You don’t need to explain a lot of things when the Holy Ghost demonstrates Himself in power. 1Co 2:4-5  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power; That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

This becomes necessary when people doubt the Lordship of Christ. Especially in many heathen nations. In Islamic and other religious based communities such as Buddhism among others, there is a need to pray for these manifestations for the work of a missionary to be easier. As you are reading this article, I pray for a release of the mantle of signs and wonders upon you. The Lord will confirm the mission that He is with you in all aspects.

In December 2023, I embarked on a missions trip to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. It was my desire and prayer to penetrate into the local people with the Gospel but I didn’t know how. I decided to get a flyer with a gospel on it and write my WhatsApp number behind the flyer. I started dropping the flyer at vantage points, believing that someone may chance on it and call me.

So after eating at KFC,  I would drop one there; in the public transport, in the boutiques and thrift shops, I would drop some in the pocket of the jeans, in the bags, believing that someone would get the Gospel. It was a step of faith. God honors faith. He is a God of faith. Whatever step of faith you take, it works.

I remember a call came through WhatsApp around 11:00 in the morning from an unknown person. A Tajik lady had called to tell me of how she chanced on one of the flyers in a shop. She wanted to me come to their home to pray for her sick mother who has been paralyzed in for more than five years. At this point I didn’t know what to do. Should I go to this unknown family or was it rather a trap to a Christian since this is a typical Muslim community? I was in a dilemma. But I gathered courage to be in the address that was given to me.

To my surprise, I saw a woman lying down helplessly. Without hope of rising up. At this point I knew why I was sent to this family; bringing hope to hopeless and bringing joy to the sorrowful. The name Jesus does not disappoint. The Lord glorified His name. This Tajik woman started walking and the Lord opened a door to minister to the Tajiks to start an indigenous church in Dushanbe. She joined the joined the church together with her family. Act 16:31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
