If you are reading this second part of this topic, it generally means there is a burning desire to know more on grounds breaking missions. As I had already mentioned, burden from the Lord makes a missionary pray consistently for the unreached people groups. This burden is divine and can only be lifted through prayer and intercession. The Lord answers by leading the missionary to the people you are interceding for. There shall be a connection in the spirit.
This article will focus on discipleship and follow ups. This is a vital part of the missions and must be planned even before the missions and the evangelism. If you do not plan for discipleship, it means you don’t believe that souls will be won. It’s a step of faith to plan for how to disciple the souls the Lord will connect to you as a missionary. This period helps you to explain to the soul, the essence of his salvation and what Christ has done on his behalf. Understanding of salvation usually births forth a soul winner out of the person.
I usually say that evangelism is never complete until the evangelized becomes an Evangelist. The one contact the Lord brings to the missions as a soul can be discipled to reach to his own people. This could be done in person or online. There are times missionaries are in a hurry to preach to many people. If we don’t become very intentional about our discipleship, we will end up losing all the souls without adding them to the local church.
You may stay with the one person and with a methodical system of discipleship and mentorship, the person will be a tool to reach out to others. Usually, I prefer the person to preach in his/her local language for it be recorded. These recorded audios or videos are used preach the gospel on social media platforms. Through advertisement or boosting, we can reach a large audience. If the territory disallows the sharing of the gospel, don’t show the face of the person on video. Be guided by the laws and protect the soul won. Now the reactions you get during the boosting on the social media, could be engaged privately to preach the gospel to them.
